Reasons To Drain Your Pool:

Sitting too long without chemicals or the pump running: If your house or rental property has not had the pool serviced in months and your pool water is completely green, it’s likely time to drain your pool. If algae blooms are allowed to sit, then it can stain and damage your pool substantially requiring new pool plaster. This is especially true at the bottom of your pool where you can end up with several inches of pure sludge that has to be manually removed. This sludge will often turn the plaster black and can’t be cleaned off once it’s fully permeated the plaster. If your pool is fully green, the best thing you can do is call us now to prevent further costly damage.

Total Dissolved Solids are above recommended levels: Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) can stain your pool and begin breaking down your plaster. When these levels exceed the recommended highs, it’s time to have your pool drained and start with fresh water.

Pool Refilling & Starter Chemicals

Once your pool’s been drained, we refill it with fresh water and add the necessary starter chemicals. It’s very important that these chemicals are added and your pump starts running immediately. If the water is not properly chlorinated and balanced, your pool can start to turn green again very quickly. This then starts you off on a cycle of fighting algae rather than proactively preventing the blooms in the first place. Fortunately, you won’t have to worry about that.

With our professional pool draining service, we include all starter chemicals and add them to your pool as soon as it’s refilled. Many of our clients also choose to sign up for monthly maintenance after a drain and refill to prevent any pool greening in the future and make sure it’s sparkling clear all year. But even if you want to maintain it yourself, we can get you started on the right foot.

We service inground pools of all shapes and sizes. If your pool needs to be drained, looks dingy, or your TDS are too high, just give us a call for a free quote.
